DIY anti-theft lock question
Hi, I have a 2010 GL450.
I bought electronic lock (with 15A relay) and I'm looking for circuit which can be cut to prevent unauthorised engine start.
I already tried the ignition power supply cable, located near passenger glovebox (fuse box circuit 7,5A) - it did the job but my key fob is dead then, so locking and unlocking car doesn't work either.
Do you have any ideas to indicate specific cable which can be cut by electronic lock?
Chris

A Mercedes is complex from the factory, so that it isn’t easy to steal. I would just leave this alone.
most of the Mercedes car thefts in my area have been due to perpetrator stealing the keys inside peoples homes and driving the car away. There are also more sneaky ways such as copying a keyless go RF signature, but that is a high risk low reward endeavor for the thief given the value of these cars being so low. Again just leave it alone, or find a physical interlock between the brake pedal and the steering wheel, aka. “The club”.

I am unfamiliar with aftermarket electronic locks.
That being said, I would think that disabling or interrupting the Starter circuit (fuses 122 and 105) or the ECU (fuses 51, 102, 114, 118, and 120) would accomplish your task.
