GL450 WON'T START

I replaced the air pump on my X164 and after I started the car, it ran for a second or two, I heard a noise under the hood and the car shut off. Afterwards, the car wouldn't start. Dashboard lights work, fuses look good, and starter is good. What would cause this kind of error?

First, double check your work and make certain that all hoses and connections are as they should be. Check everything that you touched (battery connections, fuses, belts, etc.), not just the air pump.

Then use a code reader and post the codes to this thread. It will provide a better starting point for further troubleshooting.

Now just one GL450 with EORP.
I look for a loose or uncoupled air connection. Basically redo all the steps you did when you replace the air pump.

I uninstalled the air pump and reinstalled it but nothing has changed. Moreover, I can't get an OBD reading without the engine started. I'm thinking it's the Crankshaft Position Sensor, so I've ordered one.

The air pump doesn't have anything to do with start-up. All connections and fuses are good.

OBD readings are available with ignition in position 2 (0 = off, 1 = accessories, 2 = on, 3 = start). You do not need to start the engine to read codes -- this is DIY 101.

We will need more informaton than you provided to be of any assistance.

I'm well aware. OBDII continues to say "NO LINK"

Turns out it was the relay. But now when the car starts it stalls whenever the compressor kicks in.
