Dealer trying to pull a fast one!

Hello everyone!

My 09-GL320 has gone into the dealer to get the field measure done and they got all the way down to the oil cooler as I guess they have a number of parts to change out so my service advisor sends me a text and advises me that oil cooler seals are leaking and that the work would regularly cost $4500 to do but since they are already there they can do it for $2500!

I am upset at this since they sent me this photo and I said if your already at the oil cooler you can change out the two $5 seals and correct the issue! He's trying to tell me it's going to be about 10 hours in labor to clean out everything which I think it's very ridiculous!

Now just one GL450 with EORP.
Yeah, dealer pricing doesn’t work that way. They’re doing two jobs and any while you’re in their stuff is how they make additional revenue. Totally agree with your point of you but no they’ve got a allocate cost somehow absolute bologna if you ask me.

Maybe ask them to stop work have the car flat bedded to your garage, you install the seals, have it flatbed it back to them that gets you out of there with at least for under 500 bucks depending upon your towing insurance - if they’re gonna be asinine, respond in kind.

Yes, terrible design flaw on the OM642.
