What to do with these hoses in engine bay

My new project 2007 320 cdi keep giving, this time in engine bay. I got the suspension worked out and peaked into the engine and found these two lose tubes, marked in yellow. I have briebly been reading about swirl motor delete and the one with connector looks like has something to do with that, and the other one with threads is a breather hose? It comes from right front, some kind of reservoir with two hoses going into it.

I know this should be very basic stuff but I don't have a parts diagram to show where these should be going to and what would be a smart thing to do....please advice. Thanks.

Defintely not stock. My guess is it is (was) connected to an oil catch can before it feeds back to the crankcase vent valve.

It looks like those two pieces should just connect back together, no?

Follow the hoses better - take more pics and post if you need to.

Not able to take pics now but that long hose with pipe fitting comes from oil catch can in front of the car. I'll dive in it when back home.

If I remember correctly the hose with the orange silicone part on the end, it goes into the intake near the turbo (on the underside) I "thought" it was part of the PCV system??

(my wife drives the 320 cdi, I'm working out of town so I cant confirm)

edit... I guess that would explain the "catch can" mod

Yes, this was simple...that long hose comes from "catch can" and connect to the other parts that again connects to the air intake. Where does that part with red gasket originally connects to? Or do I just have a new can installed with different size of hose and therefore this nice plumbing job.

The oil catch can was never a MB thing. Some owners would add this.

Like Sallad mentioned, it's in the plastic intake - right by the turbo.

Correct, but before that can was installed where would that original hose with wiring connector come from to the intake?

Ah... clarification always helps

As you're facing the engine, on the back left corner is the PCV valve that vents crankcase fumes back into the intake to be burned again.
