Front Center Console Cigarette Lighter
I have replaced my front center console cigarette light two times since I got my truck in 2019. I am I the only person who keeps having the cigarette lighter lift/tilt up when the ashtray opens. If anyone knows what I'm speaking of and how to fix it please let me know.
Thanks in advance

But if you're saying it keeps breaking and you're wondering WHY it keeps breaking... my guess would be due to closing it too hard/fast. Anything can break of course... but to have it happen twice in just a few years time leads one to look at other variables... namely the person opening and closing it

You could disassemble it and look at the gearing/springs and see if you can fix it - I've done that with other, similar, things.

My question was the latter. Why does this item keep breaking? I wasn't sure it the was a user error matter verses a commonly breaking item matter. This clearly user error. I have an after market radio installed and the there's a aux cord running behind lighter. It maybe causing the tray to jam and not close correctly. I may need to have it
relocate.
Thank you once again for help with this matter
