2011 GL450 Headlight (H7) LED Bulb Adapter/Specific Fit
Hi,
Can someone who installed an H7 LED headlight bulb replacement for the halogens in a 2011 GL tell me either (1) what specific adapter you used or (2) bulb you used that fit without a separate adapter. A brand/model and/or link for either would be great.
I've already wasted time (and a little bit of money) on supposedly compatible adapters that really aren't. Thanks!

Hello,
I don't have a X164 but I did have an X166. I went to LasFit and selected a pair that they guaranteed would work on my vehicle. The bulbs fit just fine, though accessing the housing was a bit of a pain.
Hope that helps.

if I'm not happy with what I did get, I might try those.

Same as my old ML.
I tried a bunch of bulbs but only the LasFit actually…fit. Every other bulb seemed to wiggle about in the socket. I had to force them to stay in with electrical tape, zip ties, pieces of plastic wedged in between the bulb cover and the bulb, etc. The only bulb that fit like the factory halogens was the LasFit bulb.

Yeah, I had that problem with a set of Fahren's I bought. I then bought a different set of Fahren's that plug in without the need for an adapter. Once I install the new headlight assemblies, if they don't work out, I will probably try these LasFits. But, they are a lot easier to install when the headlight assembly isn't mounted in the car. Nothing another set of wrists or elbows couldn't fix, though. Did these give you an CANBUS issues?
