Correct way of securing lower coolant hose at engine block
At first there is some humming noise, 3 seconds later, the "check coolant level" white message showed up on the dash.
Coolant temperature is now 100C and increasing (normal reading is about 91C).
might be a small leak I thought and was trying to drive home slowly (just 0.5 mile away).
10 seconds later coolant temperature reached 125C and the dash display became red and flashing with message like "over heat, stop vehicle"
I quickly pulled to the side and shut down the engine. white steam came out from under the hood.
The humming noise from engine bay continued for another 10 minutes and then stopped (some secret cooling fan, not the big one).
Turned out that the lower coolant hose popped out of the connection at the engine block.
The correct way of connecting is to push hose into the connection with clip in place, and hear a click.
I did it backwards, i.e.. hose in first and then put clip on.
Towed back home. pushed hose in, filled 6 liter of coolant back.
Changed the engine oil. It became pitch black from this short period of overheating.
Hopefully no other damages.

I'd change the oil. Cheap insurance. (edit whoops you already did, my bad reading comprehension. Good man.)
Note that how you installed the clip should work, but is definitely doing it the hard way.
Coolant is no joke. You see a low coolant error, you pull over at the first available opportunity and find out where the coolant left the engine.
