GL550 - Error code P0011: camshaft postion, intake/left/front, bank 1
Hi guys,
finally I got the bloody camshaft error - again:
camshaft position, intake/left/front, bank 1, timing over-advanced/system performance
The thing is:
1. I had the 0271/P0011 error, so I had changed the Camshaft Position Sensors + Camshaft Adjuster Magnet Solenoids
with this kit:
2. Error code was gone for about a week in which I regularly drove the car around.
3. Suddenly, the P0011 error code (camshaft position, intake/left/front, bank 1, timing over-advanced/system performance ) occurs occasionally. Sometimes it's right there when I start the engine, sometimes it's not.
And when it's not there, I can drive 40-50km and it won't come up (haven't driven longer distances recently).
It seems to only come up when the engine is cold, but also not every time when the engine is cold.
4. Engine number is outside the camshaft service bulletin (the one from April 13, 2009, S-B-03.30/08i)
5. Oil change happened also quite recently. MAF-Sensor has been replaced as well.
One more thing: When I had replaced the sensors and solenoids I also replaced both oil cooler gaskets. And after a week of the job (and quite a bit of driving) I had to top up coolant again.
And the top up coolant message came at the same time as the p0011 message (see 3.).
Any ideas what to check next or how to narrow the issue down?
Any help appreciated!
Cheers from Canada
