I keep having to change my hood struts

Do they go THAT quickly (ever 2 years) or is the shop putting aftermarket struts in that just aren’t as good? This is ridiculous!

Stabilis is the major manufacturer of struts. My originals on my 2007 lasted until 2023.

Pretty sure mine are still factory. They even have a little red button on the side of one of them. Looks like a lock or something, never really played with it.

Just checked the engine bay today at work, showing a friend the "Service Mode", lifted all the way up to 90 degrees and when closing you have to push the little red tab in then it closes. Same here, they are the original ones since 2012.
