Don't wait as it will eventually ruin your pump. The airbags are cheap and easy to replace. I mean like 15 minutes in your driveway or parking spot.

And that tiny hole can suddenly become big, even when parked.

When looking at the air supply lines the line going to that right rear air bag is spliced in a portion near the front shock tower this may be a case of the splice being the actual point of the air leak. But both of you are right I need to go ahead and get things repaired.

not necessarily the line. If there’s a leak there then yes repair the wine but if there’s no leak there, leave it be. This is not a part that subjected to the flexing and cycling that the rubber Bellows are., so you should focus on those.

I began to get a an low beam error code so this weekend I swapped back in some standard H7 Sylvania bulbs for low beams for now. I intend to get a fresh set of head lights when I do I will revisit bulb selection be cause of what appears to be involved I well be putting amber light bar behind the lower grill.

This is common when replacing bulbs with LEDs. I replaced all my exterior lights with LEDs. Every once in a while I will get a low beam out message, either left or right. I simply clear it and go on my way. I prefer that than adding resistors which if you read posts here and in other forums, often does not help and this happens with virtually every brand of Quality LEDs, even the most expensive. No codes. No bulbs actually out. No problem.

That was going to be my approach to it. But this truck may get driver by someone else once in a while and I would rather no warning message for their sake. I did however leave the same LED bulbs in as High Beams since they are used so much less.

Understood. However, one only needs to push the "Up" button on the circular dial on the left side of the steering wheel. Easy enough to explain. In my case, the warning only comes on once in a great while, mostly if I haven't driven it recently. Incidentally, if you do decide to try other bulbs, I caution you about the posts you will see, or may have seen, insisting that only super-expensive LEDs, such as Morimoto, are proper replacements. In fact, in numerous objective, equipment verified tests many of those LEDS test no better, or even worse than, much cheaper LEDS - and they all suggest at least the possibility of warning messages, which will require resistors to address. The other important thing to keep in mind is that the placement of the diodes on the LED should exactly match the location of the halogen bulb's hotspot. This is because the headlight assembly reflectors are tuned to project that spot properly. Brightness aside, the beam pattern should look the same as the halogen pattern. Those "360 degree" LEDs that have posts entirely surrounded by diodes are actually the worst.

These are my H7 LEDs of choice and really do like them. I am just getting fully into pampering this GL 450 after 8 months of ownership. Error messages don't fit into its image.
With the NYC weather still not settled in to quality outdoor with the car temperature I have not begun to run through my to do list. I will pick up a spare key next week. Then track down a passenger side engine heat shield as it is the only missing thing on the truck.

I was able to check getting a spare keep off the list of things to get done today. I will use the new key Fob and leave the original as the spare.

In the process I discovered my driver door lock has an issue with the key blade not unlocking the door. So looks like I will be removing the door panel at some point to see what the trouble is.

DON`T!!
Check out some tube videos first, they are all that way, there is a specific way to make it work. I thought mine was the same but after checking some videos in the web, I figured it out.

Nice purchase. I really like how when driving the GL doesnt really feel like a large SUV. Until you have to park her.
i have the exact same suv. It contains luxury I never had in any vehicle I've owned. I agree about the feeling and can only add how remarkably tight of a turn it can make. Compared to my Ford F150, no contest.

Well just above 130k now. As the weather turned hotter I have been able to poke around on the car more.
Unlevel suspension issue is better understood now. My front drives side bag was staying to high as the in level sensor was stuck. This would have the passenger side rear always look like it was too low when parked. I played with both front level sensors enough to free them up and now car sits almost even. I will eventually check on the rear sensors. At this point the big girl is driving so smooth I will likely not make any sensor changes untill next Spring.

I am not an AC user for the most part other that to cool the car when first getting in on a hot day or if I have passengers other than my wife as she does not like AC on in the car either. However NYC heat wave has put us in triple digits a few days. So now a can tell car has AC issues to sort through. Warmer on the driver's side vents then the passenger side vents. Not cold enough altogether. I believe the car may have too much refrigerant as I believe the low side appears to be showing 61 psi and the low side line is not feeling cold at all. I will nurse it through this hot spell as the AC shops are at prime rates while it's this hot. The most I will do is have it checked to confirm refrigerant level. With a planned fix closer to mid September. Still reading and searching online info on the x164 AC problem solving.

Moved on as I will eventually get a full MB scan to see what being seen as an issue.

In the meantime I was able to get the front suspension levers greased up and working correctly. I intend to check on the rear also.

Question. Are the air suspension GL 450 trucks ok to put on a lift for are some precautions needed.?

Much thanks to the crew at German Auto Care Inc. in Astoria NY for the quick to diagnose/repair. All systems checked A/C compressor found defective and replaced dropped off Martha at 330 pm with our appointment and the Big GL 450 was ready next day at 11 am. With ice cold A/C on another 100 degree New York City day.

On to the next few things. Yearly NYS is due should be shown up plug in and new sticker affair, tires and wheel alignment. A new pair of Contiental Cross contact lx25 275/50 r20 tires run about 275 to 300 a peace. But I am tempted to pick up a take off set of 20 inch AMG wheels fitted with Yokohama Advan ST 275/50 r20 for 1k.
I was I believe tire choice will come down to the prettiest sidewall. The Contiental Cross contact lx25 side wall by design does not provide the best tire shine sidewall. Not pressed but for wanting the wheel alignment after the tire choice is settled on so plenty of time to pick one I like.

raised white letter BFGKO2s.

These are so cool because the RWLs turn into white walls at a certain speed.

Do it.

Oil and oil filter change, plus New York State yearly inspection completed. Can feel the car a bit happier. From here on out I will try to adhere to every 3k miles oil change. My oil and filter plus 50 bucks and 15 min in and out the shop is a fair deal to me. Plus having the truck on the lift to take a good look at her is a nice bonus.

I watched a few videos of the engine air filter change and feel very comfortable to do it myself. So I will drop in those two filters soon. On the dry run I see a few small splits in the ridged area of both air intake hoses. I will debate on replacing them or even heat shield wrapping them. Flex paint may get picked up by the oxygen sensor. Wrapping them in red might be nice to my eye.
