My life with a 122k 2012 GL450
I watched a few videos of the engine air filter change and feel very comfortable to do it myself. So I will drop in those two filters soon. On the dry run I see a few small splits in the ridged area of both air intake hoses. I will debate on replacing them or even heat shield wrapping them. Flex paint may get picked up by the oxygen sensor. Wrapping them in red might be nice to my eye.
three K using good oils is wicked overkill , five to seven K is more appropriate.

This cover shot of the 2012 GL450 owners manual made me smile as it is exactly the height my GlL 450 sits after parked 2 days. That being it's lowest height point I have witnessed as opposed to right after I gave parked it. We will see as the work continues.

So I drove home armed on the street put me always ready plastic tarp on the ground and made a physical check of at the ABS sensors I found the right rear sensor with a broken wire at the plug-in to the harness but on the harness side. The wire from the sensor side is intact.
Tomorrow I will see if I can attach or jump the broken wire to confirm it as the issue.

Suspension parts have been no-lube for 25 years. They are consumable throw away parts.

I replaced the A/C compressor which was bit expensive but with an above average triple digit summer in NYC it was a must do to insure the family comfort. Oil, filters and waxes 2 used tires and 4 valve cover caps and set of center caps of which I have used one, round out the remainder of upkeep money spent. Minor splurges to this point include a charging unit hub in the second seat row and several head rest tablet holders..... I almost forgot about the rear tow bar hitch step. That step get so many remarks as it matches the side running boards so well. It is also doing well to keep the rear bumper safer from tight parking rubs. So just over a year into this 2012 GL450, it has been pure pleasure and little drama for such a fine ride. I have a list of things I would like to do for it next spring if I nurse it through the winter season.
But I have went ahead a bought a full set of floor mats for the big girl after searching around for a used floor mat for the third row without success I spent 95.00 USD on a full set. I also installed interior courtesy lights in the foot area of the second a third row that I already had in the closet a nice touch I must say. I will likely repair a broken right rear speed sensor wire the next time I have the car on a lift. The broken wire is on the female side of the pigtail connector leading into the body harness. Martha motors on. 😎

A little treat to look for after work.
