Rest mode
Rest mode
hello all. I was wondering if there was a way to disable the “Rest” feature from turning on by its self after some time. It’s super helpful in the winter, that’s why it’s a feature, but i need it off for the summer time. The Gl is black (obsidian black,) and so it does get super hot in there quickly, but having rest mode turn on while you’re in a store is also super inconvenient too. If there is some way to do it, I would appreciate it. Thanks
I think you would have to go into coding climate module in Central Gateway and locate the entry where it says AC Restwert from Ein to Aus.

As far as I know Rest feature is not turning on by itself unless you push the button, someone correct me if I`m wrong please. Had this feature in 3 different Mercedes and never seen it turning on by itself.
Same here, black car and it works like a charm in the winter time but never bothered with it in the summer, no matter what kind of air it blows it will not make a difference in a black car under Colorado sun, if the AC is not running, nothing will keep the vehicle cool.
You being in Canada, I would not disable this thing, because you`ll need it more than anyone in the winter time.

Yeah i totally understand for the winter time… But it turns on by its self after 30 minutes. I personally have seen it all the time outside of the car, and have it turn on sometimes when i just chill in the car after turning it off. It turns right off when you interact with the car (touching the door handles, unlocking the car, opening the door) it will turn off.
Like EWT said this might be due to preventing moldy smell in the AC, because my 2011 E350 does not have a Rest button and it has a bad smell in the summer, when AC is mostly used, never noticed any smell in the GL and was wondering about that because I know the cars between 2010 to 2018 are affected. This explains why GL doesn`t have that odor.
In E Class I usually turn off the AC about a couple miles from home and roll down the windows and usually use a can of odor eliminator once or twice in a summer, which is a hassle. Shame on a company like MB.
