Compass module location?
I actually have a C55, but have done surgery on my COMAND (NTG2.0/MCS II) unit with the guts from a 2008 GL to gain backup camera functionality. I was digging around in STAR while installing the factory phone system and came upon a compass error.
My compass actually works fine as long as I'm moving (GPS), so I checked on eBay for a separate module and sure enough there is one: p/n 1648204025. I'm assuming it has something to do with vehicle orientation?
Anyways, I can't find one complete with the harness and don't even begin to know where to look for this component at the wrecking yard. Does anyone know where it is located? Behind the radio? Tailgate? Somewhere else entirely?
It would be nice to get one complete with the mounting bracket and harness so I can figure out how to plug it in...
