Hi, I have a 2012 GL 450 and 2018. I replaced the two front shocks now I’m having a problem with the left side in the front. Do they usually last for about eight years? They were replaced with Bilstein. Thanks

8 years is well within the "normal" range. Could be less, could be more. They're just rubber, after all.
But, diagnose... if they're shot they're shot and the time frame is really a moot point, you know?

Yeah, those are done. They last between 3 to 5 years 30 to 50,000 miles, use depending.
The rubber gets hard with age and use and starts forming small cracks.
