Parking Issue
I have a 2011 GL450, that will not shift into park, intermittently. It worked fine before I changed the battery yesterday. I have not done the reset yet, will do tomorrow. Has anyone encountered this issue, and what was your fix? Thanks in advance.

have the car read out with a Mercedes bidirectional scan tool, and interrogate the integrated shift module. It’s the actuator that actually switches the transmission gear when receiving a signal from the stalk via some other modules.
It’s likely starting to go, so you should see codes about implausible position being stored and current, or just stored.
if you see codes about over or under voltage in the module, then it might be an electrical connection issue.
And if the readout tells you it’s not the ISM, then the other modules or the connections in between them maybe be at fault.

Not a big deal ... it's intelligent servo module and in later years the part and the name were changed to Direct Select Module (DSM).
