GL350 Bluetec 2010 – PT-CAN Bus-Off on Hard Acceleration
2010 GL350 Bluetec (X164, 722.9). Car drives and shifts normally, but under hard acceleration (from standstill or while driving) I get a PT-CAN bus-off.
Symptoms:
- Cascade of errors (ESP, Pre-Safe, Airmatic, TPMS, DSR, etc.).
- “No CAN message from N15/3 (EGS)” and related codes (U0103, U113B, P172A, U021200, 9339, 9100).
- Reproducible under strong throttle, regardless of engine temp.
- Fault clears by itself after a short while while driving.
- When scanning, all codes appear as stored/historic, none active.
Already checked:
- No oil intrusion at 722.9 pilot bushing.
- Wiring splice under passenger floor is clean/dry.
- Central Gateway inspected – completely dry, no fluid ingress.
- Happens both cold and hot.
Has anyone else experienced this on GL/ML/X164/W164/X204? What was the root cause and fix in your case?
Thanks!
