Finally posting some pictures
Here is my 2014 GL450 with the following modifications (hopefully this answers a few questions)
Lunar Blue
20% front window tint
Lowered using lowering links
Debadged
GL550 wheels and tires
The vehicle is loaded with adaptive, heated/cooled leather seats, rear entertainment, pano roof, night vision, distronic, off-road, active curve, tow package, etc. Also had it OE Tuned
Bought new in August 2014 (replaced my 2012 Dakota Brown GL550).

That was my preferred option, however, when I started looking in August 2014, I couldn't get the one I wanted without ordering a 2015. That would have meant very little discount and no third panel for the pano roof.
I got a decent deal on this one. It had all I wanted and it didn't have a black interior (I prefer the beiges and browns).
The only things missing are the flares and front/rear bumpers, which I will end up converting.
This will cost me GL550 bucks, but I did buy it and hope to keep a long time (at least 7 years).
Interior wise, I only added the AMG door pins.

Certainly not trolling nor do I debadge a 450 and install 550 wheels and AMG "biturbo V-8" behind front wheel wells.
The GL550 has 429 HP and 516 Ft lbs of torque
The GL450 is a derated 550 engine with 362 HP and 406 Ft lbs of torque
Now, what didn't I understand?

No need to be so negative towards a new member. I assume you know the 2014 GL450 is a bi-turbo V8 - so debadging and adding wheels that are optional at the dealership and putting on a badge that is true is simply the member's choice.

I didn't reply because I sensed negativity and it wasn't worth it. I understand they both have the same engine and the tunes are different. As stated in the original post, mine has been tuned (OE Tune - Christmas special). I think they both end up with ~500 hp. It feels really good, I also periodically do the adaptive transmission reset to avoid sluggishness off the line.
If there are any other questions regarding wheel fitment or the lowering links, let me know. This site has been a valuable resource to me and I would love to share with anyone if I can assist.

2015 GL 550
2015 GL 550 in Designo diamond white centered on Traxtile floor. All doors open fully without hitting the walls. The perfect car for a perfect garage.

2015 GL 550
Thank you. I used Closets by Design of Exton Pennsylvania to design and install the Traxtile floor. As we own only one car, we used a 'centered' design in three neutral colors (black, silver and grey), which makes it easy to park, especially with the Mercedes-Benz 360º view. I've appended a photograph of the garage showing the Traxtile pattern ... the GL550 fits perfectly on the center pattern.
