Thanks Jim......the only benefit to the "non online" order info is that it does have the special order info...... If I decide to bite, I think I'm good with the standard options....probably all of em except the 3zone AC and the entertainment stuff....seldom would we need that. The off road package is essential and I really am impressed with the other "driver asst" type of stuff! PM on the way!

I dropped a few options (some by choice, some by not being available). The special order stuff I did were heated windshield washer fluid and night view assist plus.

Have you had experience with the Night View Assist? I have an E-Class that has that option and to be honest I hate it. It has the wow factor for about 3 drives, then after that I never, ever even turn it on. It gives me a headache just looking at it. You have to look at the screen and it is very, very distracting. Even though its a live view of what is ahead, you cannot safely look at the screen and drive. Given the price of the option, I would spend the money elsewhere, or save it. Just my opinion.

JIm... got the sticker! Pretty much the same as I would set one up....except I need the on/off road and therefore must go with the 450. Thanks! Will be interested in how you like the look of the black on black..... I currently have the Obsidian Black and love the look but have the light beige leather.....don't like that....shows the dirt too easily!

My 2007 had the Cashmere leather. I like the looks of it, but agree it showed dirt pretty easily, and opted for the black this time.

Yeah.... love the look of the cashmere but I tend to wear a lot of blue jeans ( retired !) and i have to work hard to keep the blue stains off of the leather!

My conclusion, right or wrong, is if you live in a rural area and drive in the dark a lot it might provide value for seeing deer in the ditches. I considered looking at the screen and I'm hoping that the higher positioned screen on the 2013 will be helpful. I am fearful that I wasted $1700, time will tell.
I can't remove the option anymore since my vehicle in on it's way to Minnesota!

Anyone getting anything off MSRP? Checked with a big local dealer on price to spec a GL550. They said I have to pay MSRP since there aren't any in stock. By the time it's delivered in mid Feb, they may have some promotions, which they estimated at around $2,000. And it's not guaranteed.
I was just wondering if anyone got deals out there.

I heard about a $3000 fleet discount.
But I'm in the same boat as you--expecting Q1 delivery and hoping for some incentives at that point. The line about "not much inventory" is true though.

I'm at $2500 off MSRP on an order due in December. However in other threads some are reporting invoice...

At this moment GL550's are production limited - I had two go out earlier this month and I have four going out in the next two weeks - the six average out about $102K.
Neither my customers or myself are not embarrassed one bit by MSRP.
They are driving the exact GL550's each of them wanted well before Christmas - and everybody is happy - each one has been hard work for them and for me !
You can check USAA as a national buying program or check AMA or ABA for fleet discount.. or, if you had been smart a year ago and joined MBCAA you could have $1500 for your $59 membership...

By the way, for those looking for a diesel there is one available on the lot now at a Baltimore dealer. Options aren't what my wife wants unfortunately though.

That's really a good deal. I wonder if they will do it on the custom ordered ones.

This was a custom order. I checked every dealership website in about 100 miles and couldn't find what I wanted. I don't know why, but 90%+ of the trucks don't have the Xenon lighting package. I made the mistake of not getting the lighting package on my 2009 GL after having it on my previous 2 trucks. The Halogens on my 2009GL give the approximate light output of flashlights.

I just placed the order.
GL350, Obsidian Black/Black MB-Tex, P2, Lane tracking Package, Lighting Package, Parktronic, Heated Steering Wheel, 20" Wheels, Trailer Hitch, Running Boards, Pre-Wired for DVD. MSRP $75,350. Selling Price $68,300 - which is basically invoice minus $3000 Fleet discount I have from my work plus $500 for the dealer's profit. Also, they said there is $700 advertising fee included (another way to make money for them).
I just didn't want to fight about that. Production date is first decade of January - so hopefully at the end of January I'll see this car. Now selling my 2011 GL350 adventure begins

I would recommend you contact Michael Poole at Mercedes of Pleasanton, Ca. After extensive research with many Mercedes dealerships in Northern California, Michael was able to provide the best pricing and delivery for my Mercedes GL350. Their service is impeccable and to date, I have never been so impressed with a salesperson in all the years of buying vehicles.
Can't hurt to call, Michael will give you pricing over the phone without the " you need to see me in person" line.

They also receive a 3% hold-back, floor plan assistance and a variety of other incentives. The $3,000 fleet assistance is paid by Mercedes. At the end of the day, that $500 over invoice will produce $3,000 + on the vehicle you describe without holding costs on an ordered vehicle. As well it should.
