Purchased 2013 GL350 Today!
We went to the MB dealer to price out a 2013 GL350 and they just had unloaded a white one off the truck with most of the options that we wanted! We took it for two test drives and were sold. So, we traded in our 2011 GL350 and purchased this one!!
Love the ride in the new GL350, much smoother, faster and much more car like. Definitely a big difference! This one came with Blind Spot and Lane Assist, which are two needed features that we did not have before. It also has the P2 package (which we had before), but I think they improved the HK stereo. Interior seems more upscale over our 2011. Overall, everything about the GL is better than before.
I still think the command interface needs some work, but it is not bad.
Will have fun testing it out the next few days and interested to see if the mpg has improved too.

I would be VERY curious of you see a difference in mpg. I had a 2011 ML BlueTec and traded into a 2012 ML BlueTec and saw no gain in mpg or miles to tank. Please share once you have the info. Thanks and congrats on the new car!!!

Agree, I was taking my pictures when the engine was running and I thought the same thing - damn, that's a diesel and it sure doesn't make much noise, especially compared to the Cummins in my Dodge Ram.

Congrats! You are definitely lucky getting there right as it came off the truck. Spoken with a few dealers around here and all say I will need to order a 350.
Interesting the engine is quieter, already thought my '09 and '12 were pretty quiet though gotten a bit rougher with age. I haven't driven the new diesel yet (consistent with the '12+ ML and S) so I am curious to see how it compares to the old. I read somewhere its a new head and turbo?

I've been offered today $1,200 over invoice ...ordered GL350. They offered me 46K for my car ( 2011 GL350 16K miles, MSRP $73K). Trade in price is unacceptable and in case I decide to do it – I’ll sell it using autotrader or something. I've spent about 15 minutes talking to salesman, so no any hard negotiation was involved and I think prices will be better in spring 2013.
Good Luck.

Unfortunately the market for the 2012 and older GL's seem to have depreciated and will probably only get worse with the new GL out. I only received $48,000 for my 2011 GL350 (MSRP was $77,000) with 24,000 miles on it.
I know big financial loss and stupid financial move, but I was really impressed with the new GL and still am after having it a couple weeks. I had trade in quotes at several other dealerships (Porsche & BMW) and they were all similar or worse.
I also thought about selling it on autotrader, but then I would loose the tax benefit of trading it in on a new car, which is about $3500.

I don't mind sharing the dealership - it's MB of Morristown in NJ. My wife was shopping in that area and I just stopped by. PM me if you need a salesman's name.

That's interesting, definitely not what we're seeing in the Midwest. BTW, my vehicle was listed in new inventory on my dealer's website for about 2 weeks - 1 week before delivery and one week after. It was never available for purchase since it was ordered. But if you were at your dealership and they have a gaggle of GL350's sitting on the lot, I can't argue that apparently they aren't selling as fast on the east coast.

[QUOTE=aeggroup;5428317]Jim - good point. I have no idea what these 85 cars in NY Metro inventory mean. It may be cars on dealer's lots as well as cars in a port or on the way to the port. I just remember the time when I was buying my 2011 GL and I did not see so many Bluetecs available in our area ( I used 200 miles radius ). Anyway - it's a great car ..either it's old or new model and whoever is lucky to afford one should feel really blessed ..."
The minute a vin # is assigned....it technically shows up in "dealer inventory" But in most cases that does not mean it is on the lot.
