Adding options after placing order
Has anyone been able to add an option just before production that wasn't available when ordering. For example, I orderd a GL450 last week and was told Distronic is currently not available and most likely would return in February 2013. Since my build date is March 2013, would I be able to add this if it comes back online prior to my build date? My dealer has no idea if it's possible, but he says he'll keep me posted.

per my SA- options can be added until order is in 'red' zone i guess that means thats the final phase- i added a few options- but my build isnt until Jan- i was told mb tex wrapped lower dash is not available and they dont know when it will be- not sure if its a shortage or just cuz its a beige interior - i havent seen a single gl with almond beige interior and a wrapped lower dash so maybe thats the problem

In general all said so far is correct - but having the right sales adviser on the job to do that followup is hard to find since they are the 2%-3% exception in terms of expertise/effectiveness..
