Yes I did - I looked at his GL and the first thought in my mind was - man that GL is SHARP in silver. I think I would be very happy with the Iridium Silver. Now I cannot wait till August.

I can't wait to see my new GL550 all shined up and sitting in the showroom, only 6 more days to go (hopefully). We're planning a trip to the finger lakes soon after we take delivery so that will give us a good opportunity to get to know our new GL.

My GL550 was delivered to the dealer a few days ago but having it sent down to my home in the Miami area so that will take some time...this is the hardest wait!! Good luck to you.

What do you mean you are having sent to your home in Miami? Did you purchase it somewhere else in the country? What colors (exterior/interior) and options did you select?

I am originally from the Midwest--but currently in Miami for a self-imposed quasi semi-retirement. Bought the car from a major dealer in the Midwest. I think I posted the specs of the car earlier in the thread but it's a loaded (minus B&O) diamond white GL550 with designo porcelain.

Thanks Jim. My salesman called me to say no sneaking a peek of our 550 until Friday morning. He wants my wife and I to get the full effect of seeing it shining and polished sitting the showroom. Should be lots of fun!

Thanks Brad. Just got off of the phone with my salesman and we're set for 9:00 tomorrow morning. I had several accessories added:
- Chrome door handle recesses
- Chrome hood fins
- Mocha Brown floor liners
- Rear floor liner

Brad, our salesman just called and said we can pick up our GL ready at 4:00 pm! I'll post some pics later tonight.
I've driven a 550 already so I do know what you mean about the throttle. 429 HP is a lot of power under the foot.

agree on the hood fins. i added a set to my current 450 and really think it finishes off the hood the way it should.

I just bought the AMG accelerator/brake covers for my GL and installed them, something to consider down the road. I want to buy the chrome hood fins, but am wrestling with justifying the cost of them.

Have you come across the AMG door lock pins for the X166? I found them in an accessory catalog for the Canadian market but they are not yet offered in the US.

I like the looks of the aerowings, so I broke down and ordered. I ordered from Jerry Jones at formymercedes.com. I've found he has good stuff in the past.
An interesting piece of information, I asked about door lock pins and he doubts that the rear pins unscrew, but doesn't have access to them in any case.
