Rain-X
Has anyone applied Rain-X to the windows? just used some on my rear window today and I am impressed as to the results, the water slides right off without sticking to the window. I think what it does is close the pores in the glass. They also make it for paint as well but I dont trust it enough to apply to the paint.

I've used it off an on over the years. Don't like it so much on my windshield as can notice slight haze and confuses the automatic wipers. Rear glass though and pano roof on my E i like it though don't reapply as often as I need to. To me it helps prevent water spots on the glass those times it rains then is sunny later on...

I am personally not a fan of RainX although there are those who love it...
On the exterior - if you got the MB "Paint Protection" (sealant) rain should bead up on the paint as well ... for those without a new MB w/o MB "Paint Protection" you can use Einszett Galnz Wax (Blue Top) sealant for same benefit incl "water beading" effect on the paint...
Keep the beat !

Use PIAA Super Silicone wiper blades to get the rain-x effect without the haze. I've been using them for 15 years. They are impregnated with silicone which deposits into the glass pores over time. They also last about 5 years. I just replace the stock blades with the piaa refills from amazon. I have not seen the GL blades yet so I don't know if it's an easy swap. Might have to buy the whole housing instead of the refill.

problem with rainex is that it doesn't last. Try "Aquapel" it's made by NAPA. Costs about the same and lasts forever. I never use my wipers above 40 mph...
