2014 GL350 ordered
I wonder what Split View is. I'm guessing that's where the passenger can see something different, like movies, on the front display.

I'm ready to order my '14 GL, just waiting for dealers to get the Order Guide. Any idea when that will be?

Fab - THANK YOU.

Do you know of any standard features changes in the GL for MY14 such as new and improved Distronic PLUS, BAS PLUS, Pre-SAFE PLUS.

It looks like SO is right on the phasing out of pearl biege.

That's exactly what it is. Look on MBUSA - Its listed as an option for the S-class.

Thanks Fab, wasn't keyless go part of the P02? Did that move to standalone?

That split view looks cool!

its most likely like the S-class where you have one nav screen that you shows two things depending on where you sit, the driver sees one thing and the passenger sees something else.

Dealers sortof have the preliminary 2014 order guide now - it's broken into 5-6 different "pieces" rthan the final 35-40 page single document.

The only open thing is the fianl MY2014 base retail price point - which I feel will go up 3%-4% over MY2013.

Order banks is not "open" yet - but a good dealer/salesperson has more than enough info from these 1st pieces to sit down and map out your choices for color/features/options now - grab a preliminary "deposit" so when order entry opens up "bam" your at the top-of-the-line.

And importantly - yes, you can get your heated/cooled front cup holders for MY14.

Thanks for the info.
Finally MB put Harmon Kardon as stand alone option. No need for P2 package anymore. Palladium Silver will look nice also. Thanks MB.
Any news when AMG package will be available in US ?

Making the Easy Entry rear seat part of the P01 package is a problem for me. There are items in the P01 package that I would have to have, but the Easy Entry is not compatible with toddler car seats. That eliminates the 2014 GL for me.

Hopefully Fab is working with the engineering team to get a change to eliminate the headrest problem.

Since Polar White and Arctic White are current MB colors - Polar is a bit "whiter"/"brighter"/"cleaner":

Personally, I prefer the lines of the GL accented in the medium and darker metallic shades - Palladium makes a great decision with Steel Grey

My dealer told me yesterday that best case for 2014s showing up will be end of August and more likely September because they have several other new models coming out before then

Planned 1st week Sept delivery - which may get released early last week August - that is Vance factories and the other new models including CLA are all German build... have nothing to do with the SUV business - diesel will be later in Oct after Federal-Calfirnia approval which is required for each new model year. AMG's are "planned" for substantial August production - but that "planning" I feel is certain to change - remember we have not seen the 1st MY13 production units yet on that one...

No - the "new" electronics shown for both the S-Class and E-Class are all "limited" or "delayed" delivery even for those models in Germany - I don't expect MB to come back and add for MY14 in addition to the feature changes announced internally so far.. could they be added later into MY14... maybe..

New content P1?

Fabrissd... Thanks for your post!
Do you have any further info on what the new P1 will have and any other parts of P2 that are going to be standalone options, or should we infer that those you mentioned are the only changes?
We are lucky to have you. I have my finger on the trigger to replace my 07 CDI which has been perfection at 42k miles (NO ISSUES). I figured I was pushing it (my luck, that is) to get another first year run

Jump in carpersn - the water is nice. Blittle and I both were 2007 adopters and now are loving our 2013's.

2013 GL 450
In some of the other posts people were speculating about some major changes in terms of new security features that will be introduced with the new E-class as well some of those featured by the new S-Class. Nothing major will change for the current GL generation until the mid-cycle facelift in 3-4 years. As an example, the newer COMAND system was introduced several years ago but only added to the GL with the new model. Accordingly, the new COMAND thats coming with the new S-Class with the much bigger screen will likely come to the GL with the facelift as well. So people worrying about 2013 vs. 2014 model, there are only going to be minor changes but nothing substantially that should hold anyone back from placing an order now (unless you want a 2014 for a better resale value later).

personally, the split screen for the S class is nice, for the screen size on the GL, i wouldnt get it.. i have no issues with the screen size on the new GL, but to split view that may be unnecessary...
I'd be interested in knowing if the brake lights become LEDs and if they add LED headlights like the CLS and the 14' E63 AMG- that would be a definite upgrade I would be interested in..
