Hi - need help from folks with the panorama roof.

I ordered a 2014 Bluetec with the panoramic roof
Order locked so I don't know if I can even change it now. But I heard that the 3rd row has no shade - I sat in one at the dealer but did not notice it. But is the heat rejecting glass keeping it comfortable for passengers in the 3rd row?

My previous 2012 Gl350 had a 3rd row roof sunshade and if left open it got pretty hot back there. But I'm not sure if the glass was heat rejecting type as in the newer generation GLs

Any comments appreciated.

 

If your order is locked then you cannot change anything. I don't have my GL yet so cannot comment on the lack of sunshade for the 3rd row.

 

3rd row does not have shades, how often do you use your 3rd row seats? worst case scenerio is that you get the third row sunroof tinted 5%, will cost you $50 to $100.

 

Thanks for replies, I guess since its a locked order can't change anyways. I thought that when the dealer said it was locked that there was some time to re-consider. Will see how kids like 3rd row when their back there.

 

The 3rd row sun roof is already tinted more than the front and second-row sun roofs. You will not even notice that there is no shade on the 3rd row sun roof.

I went back and forth trying to decide if I wanted the pano roof but my daughter rode in 2007 GL with a pano roof and said it made the back seat feel much more open. Now that I've had it for a few months I must admit I really like it. And several friends who have rode in the second row seats have commented they really like it a lot. I think you'll be happy you have the pano roof on your new GL.

 

you'l def be happy with it- especially when you sit in the back- the 3rd row definitely more tinted- you can always increase it or even buy a cheap roll-a-blind and stick it..
in any case- its a good thing you got it..

For me it was either to wait 9 months or have the car around Nov with all the options i want except the pano roof. All the mercs I currently have or have owned has the pano option and its always the first option I pick for my car, unfortunately for the first time not for the GL.
