2012 S63, 2014 GL63

Rear Entertainment System

Hi guys sorry to have so many questions, just wanna know how many remote controls and headphones should I expect for the rear entertainment system as I'm seeing different variants online, some people have 2 headphones plus 2 remote controls and some have 2 headphones plus 1 remote control. What should I have for the X166 GL? Should it be:

1. 2 Headphones, 2 Remote, 2 Carrying Case for Headphones

2. 2 Headphones, 1 Remote, 2 Carrying Case for Headphones

3. 2 Headphones, 2 Remote, NO Carrying Case for Headphones

4. 2 Headphones, 1 Remote, NO Carrying Case for Headphones

my 2013 GL450 came with 2 headphones, 2 remotes, 2 carrying cases for headphones

Thanks 2013 GL450, Mine's a UK 2013 GL63 so I should be expecting the same when I pick up the car. Thank you.

Yeh guys you see thats the problem, my 2011 S63 came with 2 headphones, 2 carrying cases and 1 remote as well but I thought Mercedes changed it to 2 remotes now cause I'm seeing people having 2 remotes in their cars, what should we actually expect or does this all depend on the dealer? Any experts here to guide us out?

if it comes with one, ask them to throw in another one. worst they can say is no. or call your sales person now to make sure they throw in two.

I had it factory ordered and got two of everything.

But only one central player???? I think the second DVD has to go into the Front CD Player??? Haven't even tried it out yet.

Sounds about right - had the system dealer installed and have only 1 remote. I too thought the dealer pulling my leg when I saw some owners here having 2 remotes

Is anyone using more than 2 headphones? I've been trying without any luck but just noticed tonight the dealer has been giving me the extra headphones without the "digital audio" label.

This leads me to believe 2013+ has slight different type of headphones even though they look exactly the same as pre-2013, which doesn't have the Digital Audio label.

Can other please confirm with 2013+ systems.

My 2014 GL63 came with 3 remotes and no headphones. I guess the remotes are one for split screen, them one for each rear screen.

The missing headphones is a mistake that the dealer is working out for me.

My headsets wouldn't work so had to bring it back to the dealer to have them pair them. Took about an hour. Work fine now.

The second DVD must go into the front stereo center. Seems we all have to listen to the same movie on the stereo, but there is a way to select just for the one video screen that wants to watch/hear it, and you can continue to play your music on the car stereo. A bit overly complicated in my opinion. I'm old school I guess. No 8 track player!
