GL63 Owners

I figured I'd start a new GL63 thread for owners and questions for owners. It seems there's been a flurry of deliveries lately and maybe some comments or concerns better addressed on a fresh thread.

Post pics and driving and favorite feature comments here too!

2013 GL63; 2012 S63
I didn't order mine but found a 2013 at a local dealer who I deal with quite a bit. It's black (inside and out) with chrome on the outside. I've had the audiovox charging ipad holders hardwired and attached to both driver and passenger headrests. In terms of driving, I was coming from a G63 and I have an S63. It drives a lot like my S63. I live the rumble of the exhaust note without being too overpowering. I also missed the conveniences in the G of not having things like massaging seats and one-touch window operation.
I do wish there was a better way for kids/adults to access the third row. I like the one touch electronic operation of putting the second row seat down but it is quite heavy and almost impossible for any child to put it back up. I know that it's not the most safe way to do it (hands getting caught and so forth) but it would be great if you could hit that button again to return the seat to the normal sitting stance. Other than that, the seats are very comfortable and it's had a good first 500 miles.

Tire Pressure

I'm still struggling with tire pressure. I've been slowly creeping up from minimum to 36/38 and may creep up to 38/38 or maybe 39-40/39-40 as recommended by RENNtech.

The gas filler cover has good information but, conflicts with driver's door numbers.

What have you been running?

Trimmer2:

You have asked a great question on the tire pressures. Dealer set them at roughly 41/42 cold all around. I have been thinking about bringing that down a bit as I am used to mid 30s on my E63 tires. Odd that the pressures on the two spots conflict. But then the MBUSA website says that the GL63 comes with all season tires . . . Not an issue for you in So Fla but I will need to change out to snows.

Also, what are you normally using as the suspension setting. I have been go with Sport as Comfort was too floaty. Sport Plus seems a bit firmer but maybe too firm.

Kind regards

I've been running in Sport mode. Quite frankly, straight line I only feel a marginal difference between the 3 modes. Body roll is minimal in all three but, there's a subtle firmness increase going up to Sport+.

My GL was delivered with summer Conti tires as cold temps and snow aren't an issue here.

I've been running with Solar with the brown interior. I think the warm hue works best.

Cybernorth:

Love your Steel Grey pair. And is that a GTR in the background . . . ? If so, you really have a car to drive to suit every mood.

Yes that be a gtr. Agreed. I used to shove everything in the C to avoid long trips in a slow car. Not no more
