Brake Problems with 2013 GL 450
I purchased a new 2013 GL 450 approximately one year ago. I now have 24,000 miles on the vehicle. The vehicle is in the shop for the second set of front rotors and brake pads and in June it spent a week in the shop to replace a front axle shaft as a result of a leaking differential and the axle was warped.
I think all of this seems excessive and I want to see if others have experienced similar issues and what remedies were offered? I don't want to replace front rotors and pads every 8,000 to 10,000 miles. Car is driven by one person, principally highway travel.
Thanks,
Paula

Lots of discussion on the forum re: the brake issue. Do a search and you'll find helpful and informative stuff...actually, I'll save you the trouble: https://mbworld.org/forums/gl-class-...s-warping.html. In general, you may wish to simply peruse this forum and the Benzworld forum on the '13 and up GL. Because the car is so new, there aren't all that many topics to leaf through and you'll learn really interesting stuff.

Not that this will make you feel any better......but the axle issue you have is the FIRST that I have heard of that in my 6 years of GL ownership covering 3 different model years. Brakes.....there has been a lot of that, although I have over 12k on my 2013 GL450 and no brake issues at all.

Brake problems after 5,000
Bringing in my 2013 after 5000 miles because the front rotor(s) feel warped!! Get the wobbles breaking from highway to stop. Also bringing it in because the Lane Assist stays ON when a car passes on the driver side. Red triangle doesnt go off when clear and stays on for entire trip. Brought it in once and they said fixed, turns out not fixed.

Read that thread as Dog Hauler suggests. You will see they need to replace the pads and rotors or you could get a repeat.
The axle problem is new, hopefully it's a random defect that is fixed and never shows up again.
My 2013 GL350 is 1 year old on Halloween, I have 16,000 miles on it, and haven't had a single issue.
