running boards
I recently took delivery of my '14 and returned my '11. The '14 is light years ahead of the '11, really happy with it. We are really missing the running boards though, especially my kids that tend to fall out. lol
Dealer said they are on backorder, anybody know of a good source to get elsewhere?

2014 GL 450
I also bought a 2014 GL450 couple of weeks ago and unfortunately could not find one with the appearance package (which has running boards) to match the rest of our spec. I am told the running boards are not available yet for the 2014 . If you have any updates, do let me know and I can do the same.

Mercedes does not have running boards available for X166 - not available as dealer installed option - it's factory installation only - that's the way it has been since the X166was introduced Sept 2012..

x166 running board kit...
Kit includes:
- Basic carriers (inner part of running board) x 2
- Outer cover with LED lights x 2
- Jack Points x 4
- Rubber plugs to seal original jack point mounting holes x 4
- Mounting Consoles - 2 front and 2 rear. These are spacers to lower jack points
- Cables to connect LED lights (1 left, 1 right)
- Nuts to attach basic carriers
Kit does not include instructions.
