Aluminum trim VS poplar wood and exterior color choice?

Hi guys, I'm from Australia and here the GL350 has a aluminum trim option that you can choose without extra fee. With the aluminum trim you also get a aluminum stroke sports steering wheel (see the picture) similar to GL63. I kinda like this style but afraid of losing some luxury feeling compares to wooden trim.
Until now I have narrowed it down to two choices: 1. aluminum trim with sports steering wheel and black leather 2. dark poplar wood trim with wood/leather steering wheel and brown leather/black head liner. Any suggestions?
Plus the exterior color choices: 1. Cavansite blue (or lunar blue in US?) 2. Diamond white 3. Metallic gray
I like cavansite blue most since majority numbers of marketing videos from Mercedes are blue GLs, looks gorgeous. However I also heard it's even harder to keep it clean compares to black color. Any suggestions on those 3 colors please?

The dark poplar is very nice... I had it in my E500... I currently have the designo gloss black and it shows finger prints and dust like crazy...
The wood will look higher spec than the aluminum...
2 cents for u.

Here in the US the wood/leather steering wheel is a separate choice that you can add on top of leather interior - pluses the wood/leather wheel really "pops" the luxury look of the cabin wood trim.
The steering wheel you should in your pic is the "standard" - and actually most people find that quite a nice wheel.
Frankly, here in the US aluminum trin even in sport sedans is not that common - here people shy away from it since the wood trim has such a nice-shiny-hard-laquer surface to it - versus they are afraid they will scratch the aluminum
Keep the beat !

ash wood
I have the satin ash wood on my GL550, and it looks great, like real wood.
I also have the all-leather steering wheel, which I like better than the leather/wood steering wheels in my S63 and SL550.
The Polar White exterior is awesome.

Satin ash on porcelain designo and diamond white metallic.
Leather steering wheel so we can have the heated wheel option.
I must say I was worried about the satin ash, but it is very very classy and sharp. Wish I had it in my CLS too.
