Looking to order a GL350 and had a question that even my dealer can't track down and i haen't found on the forums.

If you add the option (888) for lockable rear storage what does this mean on the GL350 since i understand it doesn't have a spare tire? Does it only add a lock or does it add a storage organizer under the door?

Can somebody share a photo of the GL350 storage to show what it looks like without a spare tire in there?

I didn't realize they eliminated the spare tire on the 2014 GL350. Do they use run flats again? Or a compressor/fix a flat? Or nothing?

I was told run flats, can't find one on the ground to double check that. I was told the tire was missing because the AdBlue tank was in that space. Seems odd as i didn't think the tank for AdBlue was that large and this video shows the filler for AdBlue is now outside the car vs in the 'trunk'.

All Mercedes W166 GL's for all markets do not use run flats - and all have spare tires - only exception is GL with added B&O stereo - with that stereo option you lose the space for spare tire.

The "lockable storage option" - adds a key lock to the rear cargo floor compartment handle.

I am confused why your "Mercedes dealer" would not this - are you outside the US ?

I'm in Florida, dealer claims they can't keep GL350 on the lot so they never have 1st hand experience expect for the time they do delivery. My dealer claims to be the largest dealer in south east area, not just FL on volume.

Other than adding the key lock, does this option add/remove anything else like a cargo organizer or do you just stuff your items around the spare tire wherever you can find room? It is a small cost to add so not worried about that, just don't want to find I lost something by adding this such as the tie down hooks in the floor get removed or something odd.

There is definitely a spare tire in my trunk on my GL 350, 2014. The Ad Blu access tube is now nicely located next to the fuel cap.

Your dealer salesperson like has no experience - or is a confident bull****ter - since there are NO runflats for ANY W166 2013-2014 GL - it's like asking "is the sky blue" ?

At least find another salesperson - that's totally lame - I mean totally lame...

Any chance you could snap a picture of that area opened up? For some reason i can't find a picture anywhere of that. If I finally get to order this GL350 I'm going to take 100 pictures of "the non-normal" stuff to post for people like me who can find 1M pictures of dashes, doors and outside pictures but very few of other areas of the car.

I think it includes an organized but keep in mind that they made it a special order item so you will have to pay an extra $250 fee for that. I think it's only worth it if you are adding multiple special order items as you only pay the fee once.

Go to your dealer and have them pull the photo up - oh, I forgot they're lame but you're the one choossing to do business with them - make them earn it..
