I just ordered a 2014 GL350 too!

Thanks to all who have posted info on this site...very informative! Build date is second decade of April. Here is what I ordered:

796 Dakota Brown
254 Auburn Brown/Black Leather interior
P01 Premium 1 Package
H09 Brown Satin Ash Wood Trim (SPC)
50R Optional 20" wheel
U09 MB-Tex Wrapped Lower Dashboard (SPC)
SPC SPC Special Order
68 Wheel Locking Bolts
289 Wood/Leather Steering Wheel
319 Lighting Package
399 Driver/Passenger Muti-Contour Seats w/M
401 Active Ventilated Front Seats
413 Panorama Sunroof
581 3-Zone Automatic Climate Control
550 Trailer hitch
810 Harmon Kardon Logic 7 Sound System
846 Illuminated Running Boards
875 Heated Windshield Washer Reservoir
883 Soft-close doors (SPC)
888 Lockable Rear Storage Compartment
889 Keyless Go
980 Chrome Package (Door Handle Inserts and Hood Fins)
996 Parking Assist Package
997 Driver Assistance Package

Dealer said that everything was available that decade except the 20" wheels (but he will keep trying to add). What should I consider adding/deleting? I don't want to increase price any further.

That looks like a perfect build from my perspective! I know everyone has their own opinions, but this hits my wheel house. I think my next GL would be this build except probably still in black, or perhaps steel gray, but that's entirely personal.

Sounds perfect! The 20in wheels would not be an issue for me…the stock 19's are just fine.

blittle, I was planning on the stock 19's for the potential better ride and less expensive replacements but then saw a Dakota Brown with the 20's and I thought they looked better, particularly with that color. Not a problem if it arrives with the 19s; they look good too.

Nice config! I have always been a fan of smaller wheels for comfort, tire durability and cost. Bigger does look better but trade off isn't worth to to me personally. We have 19" on the GL and 17" on the E...

Leather vs. MB-Tex

Yikes! The current thread regarding leather vs. MB-Tex has me reconsidering my order. However, I'm not really sure what the issues are with leather "wear" that people are saying. I currently drive a 2000 Lexus LX-470 that we have had since new and have no issues with leather "wear" after 200,000 miles. We also have a 2000 MB E320 wagon (ordered new) that my son drives (150,000 miles) and no issues there either. No stretch for either. Sure the leather gets lines as it breaks in but I don't find those objectionable. I once had a 1986 300E with leather (almond-ish color) that faded and also split along the seems on the drivers side at 140,000 miles and I wasn't happy about that. Does it change color over time or wear through? Is it that the quality of the leather used in the GL is poor quality? ...or that some don't like the way the leather "breaks-in".

I tend to agree, I had my 2007 with macadamia leather for 6 years. I would say it was starting to show some wear, but it was 6 years old and had 120,000 miles on it. I'm a leather guy.
