FM Traffic

I just finished my 6 month trial of XM+ traffic on my new 2013 GL450.

The interesting thing was- the traffic was still pulling up, though not as detailed as when I was subscribed to XM traffic, but the green/yellow/red lines were showing. Any accidents/incidents were not pulling up on the screen.

I resubscribed to XM ONLY (no traffic) 2 days ago and after about 1 day, now the Traffic has dissappeared.

My asumption was the traffic was being pulled via FM-Traffic (like my BMW), and now the XM signal has somehow blocked it so I am not getting it anymore????

Any thoughts on this

any way I can get back the traffic, or I have to subscribe to XM traffic???

Thanks...

The XM radio and traffic have different ESNs actually. So when you subscribe to radio that particular ESN is turned on. It is possible the traffic one was just shut off at a different date because they are not really linked .

I believe the traffic costs 3.99/ month. Not really worth it in my opinion. The traffic speeds seem to be delayed at least 15 minutes which could mean the difference between bumper to bumper and 20 mph. I use an app on my iPhone for traffic that is real time and free.

A gaggle of MB's
My customers - who do not use XM Traffic - have been waiting to last week of the free trail - then call into SIRIUS and report back they have been getting 2yrs XM/XM weather for $100 - not $100 a yr - but $50 a yr for 2 yrs total $100

If it was me - I'd call SIRIUS and tell them you want to drop the whole shebang and se what great rate they can come up with to get both incl traffic.

thinking about it, I just realized that I stopped my MBrace trial service the same day that my traffic went off. I am thinking that MBrace was somehow supplying the traffic info.

can anyone confirm that?

have MBrace, but not XM and are getting Traffic info????

I'm pretty sure traffic comes from Sirius/XM. Sirius/XM prices are highly negotiable, I usually pay $85 per year for each of my 3 vehicles with Sirius. I do like to have the weather app, I think I pay $1.99 per mo for that. I don't pay for traffic, as I don't like in a high traffic area.
