$64 question

Does anyone know what the "blank button" on the dash is for? I think we have all options and I am surprised to see one of the silver buttons under the nav is blank??

According to the online manual, for those two, the one on the left is for Auxiliary Heating and the one on the right is the Eco button for turning off the stop start function, I have the Eco on my GL63, but not Auxiliary Heating.

Reading the manual some more, the Auxiliary Heater is really cool, you get a different remote control (with an lcd display) with a range of up 300 meters!!! that can switch on the aux heater in the car set the temperature so it's all toasty before you go to work, how cool is that!

Have any of you cold place people got this?

From my quick google search, the auxiliary heater is only for the diesel engine. Looking at the photo in this link, it appears to be the Eco and a button to disable traction control.

I have a 2013 Gl350 and do not have the auxilllary heater button and as far as I know no one in the U.S/Canada has that button. Eco button should come on 2015 Models, standard on the GL63 for 2013-2014

Not available in UK either, but it's a $1800 option in Germany and can be for petrol or diesel.

Shame as the translated description from the CLS brochure reads:

"The auxiliary heater ensures even before the start of the ride in the vehicle for pleasant temperatures and ice-free windows - even on frosty days. The heater provides five kilowatts and operates independently of the engine. It can be a switch in the vehicle, activate by remote control from a distance of up to 300 meters or by the timer function."

Nice!

Here's a pic also from CLS, it's the one to the right of the two for seat heat and ventilation

You guys are awesome. I do have the ECO button, but after reading the description I wish the auxiliary heater option was available. Without remote start that would have been a nice substitute.

Interesting, don't think the auxiliary heater is available here, would be a nice option.
