Higher pitch tone/hum noise when turning right at low speeds?

Anyone heard this on a GL? I started noticing it on my 2014 a few weeks back. Just driving around neighborhood or wherever at around 20 mph, if you turn right you hear a noise from the passenger side, possibly towards the back of the car, but it's hard to locate exactly. Not super loud, but noticeable.

I took it to the dealer, they can hear it, but claim it is normal as they have another GL on the lot that makes the same noise. Their best guess as to cause is a resonance of some sort in the exhaust. But I'm not clear on why that would only be audible when turning right?

Have the Dealer check your front wheel bearings.

Ill check it out on my 13….but I don't think I have detected anything like that. Can't figure the "exhaust resonance" because that would not be related to turning the front wheels…..if the sound is "normal" or if not, I would suspect it more to be associated with either the center or rear differential as a turning motion would change the dynamics on each of those units.

Mine also started with high pitch sound and progressed into a loud scraping noise.

Interesting, thanks for the info. And was it only noisy when you turned one way (right in my case) ?

I've trying to figure out where the clicking noise was coming from when making a slow turn. I just know it was somewhere in the front wheel.

Time to bring the vehicle in for inspection.

So same issues. When cold start from garage turning right noise comes from left across floor board. Forman hears it and they have had it in the shop for 8 days and counting. First drive shaft, then differential and now steering wheel knuckle. Hum.

So your noise is from the front? Mine is from the rear.

Stopped by today and the knuckle came in and they would install. Hopefully this does the trick.

Back on the road. The entire front end has been replaced. Drift shaft, knuckle, differential, control arms and alignment. All under warranty of course. The GL was in the shop since Feb 18 and we picked up on Friday, March 13. The problem is known in north east states, Alaska and all cold weather climates. Once the climate warms it goes away. Mine started making the noise during a week cold spell in the DC area where we had temperatures in the single digits and negative digits. The ticket with MBUSA will remain open in case they find any other issues and or solutions to the problem by MBUSA engineers. So for those of you in the cold climates please beware and good luck.
