Drive them both to compare for yourself - but you need to decide which model to drive 1st..
The way that works is this..- if you drive the GL350 1st - and then the GL450 - the GL450 will sound a "little quieter"...end result GL350 will be very impressive..
..if your drive the GL450 1st - then drive the GL350 next - you will hear the "slight" increase in running noise at idle and low/street speed..and you will be impressed by the GL450..

2014 GL350
I drove both and the only difference I noticed was the way the 450 drove compared to the 350. I LOVE the way the 450 drives but I hate the way it sucks up gas so i opted for the lesser powered diesel option of the 350. Most people can't even tell it's a diesel and it's very quite from the interior honestly.
