They also added the V6 gas GL400.
I will definitely add head up display if I will be given the option.

Maybe for 2016? 2015 DOGs are out without this option.

Also, that photo isn't a GL. Did you see it specifically listed for the GL?

Another (cheap) option is the Sygic GPS Navigation for Android/iPhone which has an HUD mode.

2013 GL350. BMW 335. 2014R1200RTW
BMW has been doing HUD's so long I was surprised by its absence on the GL when I started checking the option boxes. My 335 has it and I simply love it; speed, turn info, audio info, phone, etc. all right there in the line of sight without being the least bit distracting.

I wish my Nightview was on a HUD. It shows amazing detail beyond the high beam xenons, but the screen location makes it a major distraction

That's what I was wondering about -- what's the point of that kind of early warning, "augmented" display if it's not line of sight?

HUD FLIR would be a compelling feature to upgrade to the next model.
