Current ELW and Prepaid maintenance pricing and Appearance package

Does anyone has access to info on current pricing for MB ELW and Prepaid maintenance on 2014 GL350BTC?

Also, has anyone here bought Mercedes-Benz First Class Appearance Package. My dealer quoted me price of $2845 (probably MSRP)

https://www.mbfs.com/mbfsr/en/faqs/f...sAppearance.do

As per MBFS website, It includes

This comprehensive protection plan consists of:
First Class Wheel and Tire Protection "Plus"
• All costs associated with replacement of wheels and tires due to a covered road hazard,* plus wheel repair for most scrapes, scratches and other
cosmetic damages
• Unlimited number of service visits allowed
First Class Paintless Dent Repair
• Non-invasive repair of minor dents and dings
• Unlimited number of service visits allowed
First Class Windshield Replacement
• Covers all costs associated with replacement of a front windshield due to damage from unavoidable road hazards
• Maximum total benefit $5000

As I am taking delivery soon, I am also researching these services. I have been told that the prepaid maintenance is NOT a good idea on a Blue Tec as MB priced it based on an inflated cost for AdBlue. Now that AdBlue is way less costly to obtain, the service costs are way lower but not reflected in the original pricing. I have also been told that after your first service there is a used car prepaid maintenance plan that IS cost effective. I am going to take my chances on door dings, (PDR) but will buy the better wheel and tire package. You have 30 days to decide, and remember that this board has recommended Dan Boone from Austin MB for great pricing on extended warrantees.

I did the site research and found that Dan Boone out of Austin MB sells the warantees cheap. I bought a 7/100 for $2880 for my GL550. The 7/125 was 3650. Both of these were 30%ish off msrp.

I also read that the best way to handle prepaid mnt is to take your car in and pay for the first maintenance. At that point you qualify for used car pricing. You should then buy a package for service 2-4, then pay for 5 and lastly buy a package for 6-8.

I did not explore the appearance or tire stuff.

This is exactly what I did. The PPD maintenance is better in these circumstances. I seem to remember I saved around $500.

I didn't buy any tire warranties, have a leaky sidewall now at 23,000 miles, go in this afternoon but I'm expecting to come out owning 4 new Perelli's.

I emailed 3 different MB finance managers from whom people on this forum have bought discounted ELWs.

Dan Boone of Mercedes Benz of Austin
Erin Mahre of MB of Santa Rosa
Jeff Jackson at Tafel Motors.

Only Jeff replied and offered me a decent discount which was consistent with what others here were reporting. I bought 6/75K miles ELW and First Class Wheel and Tire Protection Plus plan. Intrestingly, the MSRP he quoted was $500 less than what my dealer was offering me. The whole transaction went quickly and smoothly.

If anyone else here is interested than feel free to contact him. He is also a member on this forum.

I was told by my dealership that the maintenance plan is overpriced because they changed the maintenance schedule but not the price of the plan. So the cost of the maint items added up is less than the plan. However I'm not sure at what length/mileage combo that is true.
Of course, if you get enough of a discount, you're probably ok.

If you have maintenance with other makes, make sure you understand what is included. It's way different than BMW for instance which covered my brakes & windshield wipers, for instance, that isn't included with MB.

A gaggle of MB's
Well.... under MB preapid maintenance effective since last Sept noth Required items and Recommended schedule items are included - yes, includes wipers, cabin filters, etc.. Does not cover wear items brakes/tires etc.

"Best" savings can come purchasing a 20K or 30K pack AFTER 10K service and BEFORE 20K service... example 10K/20K/30K is A+B+A, under after 10K/before 20K - same threepack same cost becomes B+A+B.. and under each B service prepaid maintenance also pays for "recommended items" as well including wipers, cabin filters, a whole shebang of stuff depending on gasser/BlueTech
