Bricked ECM

Bricked ECM
My brand new 2014 GL450 was shifting roughly so I took it to the dealer for inspection last week. I was told there is an ECM update to address the shifting issue. But, something went wrong when they tried to do the update and the ECM became unresponsive. They waited nearly a week for a patch from Germany but the patch didn't work. I'm told this has become an "ultimate priority" but there is no choice but to wait for Germany to send the right software patch.
It's been more than a week now and I've been very patient about having my brand new car sitting dead in the shop. But, I am beginning to feel frustrated and helpless about the situation. So, I am looking for advice here on what--if anything--I should do to get this resolved quickly. Thanks!

hmm... I'm having the same issue. But mine is between the 3rd and 2nd gear. Doesn't happen all the time, but very noticeable in stop and go traffic.

Same here, 3rd to 2nd was rough. Good news though. I just spoke to the SA and they have a fix! Hoping to get the car back today. I guess someone at MB is watching these forums.

Call Mercedes Customer care in the morning - (800) 367-6372 - with your VIN # and the facts - and tell them you are very concerned because you are not clear from the dealer whether this is a Product Issue or Dealer Service Issue.
This will start a 2nd/different wave to support clear and effective resolution.

Apparently it's all fixed now and they're bringing me the car this morning.
The way it was explained to me, the delay was mostly due to a poor communication process between the shop and the engineers in Germany. The problem is submitted, an email acknowledgement is received from MB and then it's just a waiting game until a fix "magically" appears. Supposedly there is no direct interaction between the shop and the engineers during this process that can help expedite a solution or at least explain the delay. It's very troubling if it's true.
As for a loaner, they initially gave me a C300 and then an ML350 when I asked for something bigger a few days later. I would have been pickier had I known this would take so long. Honestly, the wait has killed the excitement of having a new car.
