Shift quality Service Campaign
Service Campaign 2014060003 JUN14 - 2014 166 & X166 SCN coding to engine control module will optimize transmission shift quality. Approximately 7,507 vehicles affected have dealer check VMI to see if VIN is included.

If you register for Owner's Online - "normally" you would receive email notice.
If not registered - or you want to check - call your dealer service dept with your VIN# - they will just need last 8 digits.

If you need your transmission shift quality optimized, what are the symptoms? My transmission doesn't shift as smoothly as I think it should but the dealer tech and an MBUSA field tech both drove the vehicle and said the transmission shifted just fine. I still think it's not as smooth as it should be.
BTW, although I'm registered for Owner's Online, I haven't received an E-mail notice that my vehicle is included in this service campaign. I'll call my dealer, as suggested, but I'd like to know the symptoms first.

My husband commented on the roughness and I had just read the message. It showed up on the mbrace site for my vehicle as a service bulliten so I had it done. It does seem better.

My MY14 GL550 just had it's 20k B service. We had the Shift service campaign done several weeks before, but we mentioned that still found the shift to occasionally clunk at low speeds, so they investigated. They said a new program was just released a couple of days ago which they applied. I do not have a # for that.

My 2014 GL550 had a surging between 1 and 5 MPH. MB did an update for the lockup torque converter, and it's better but not completely gone.
Shifting at any other speed has always been fine.

owner's online shows that my car is affected. However, my car has a rebuilt title and typically the warranty is void if the car has salvage history.
Any idea of MB would do the service campaign on my car or would I have to pay for it? I think they are required to still perform recall work, but I'm not sure about service campaigns.
