Tire Choices for GL350 BT

My OE tires are looking rather worn after some 14k miles. Rotated them once with the fronts taking the brunt of the wear it seems. Suppose it is the heavy front end and braking?

Anyway, starting to look around for some replacement options and I'm not overly impressed with the OE Continentals, 275/55/R19.

Has anyone changed their tires over to other options besides the OE Continentals?

Looking around there does not appear to be much selection in this size.

I've been very happy with my Pirelli Scorpions. 32K miles, half of it towing an Airstream (which increases weight on all four corners when using a weight distribution hitch) and they've worn very evenly and have safely another 3-4K in them.

This summer I had to get new tires at 17K miles and have 19" wheels also. I got the Michelin Latitude Sport tires. They are a summer tire but they have performed very well so far. I had a lot of trouble with the Conti's in the rain and feeling out of control like it was going to run off the road. I got these and they feel great in the rain and dry roads. I have also taken them on the sand this summer to the beach on some thick sand, and with the 4 matic, they were great! There aren't a lot of options out there for this size. I did not want to purchase another set of Conti's as I thought they were horrible. Here is the link to the tire if you want to take a look. No problem with road noise either. http://www.michelinman.com/tire-sele...75/55/19/tires

I replaced my 275/55/19 with 255/55/19 Nokian WR G3. According to the calculators I have seen, when my speedo reads 75 mph, I'm actually doing 72.9 mph. Not that bad and the tread has a 55k miles warranty. A lot better than the OEM tires. Plus they're quieter and should be much better during a New England winter.

I would be interested in another option - but I only see 255/35 and 255/40 in the 19 inch - on their website. Where did you buy your tires?
