2014 GL450 easy entry problem
The easy entry option on the passenger side in my 2014 GL450 is not functioning correctly. The second row seat flips and moves forward as its suppose to but the front seat moves slow. Because of that the headrest of the second row seat hits the back of the front seat and its stops moving forward. I took it to the dealer twice. The first time they updated the software and that didn't help. The second time they said there is NO fix for it which I don't think they know what they are doing. Did any one experience this issue and were you able to fix it?

I had the seat frame on mine replaced by the dealer because the seat would just bounce when it was trying to flip up.

Hahah, why yes I have had this problem among so many other things! I have a 2014 GL350 and I always thought it was crazy how the front seat didn't go up very far. I had a loaner GL from the dealer once and it had manual 2nd row seats. I flipped them up and the passenger front seat went up really far and it was much better than my car. I took mine to the dealer among other things and they said they didn't see anything wrong with it. I also have covers on the back of the seat and sometimes they can get hung up on the mesh when flipped over. They blamed it on that. I knew that wasn't the problem considering it happened even before the covers. It wasn't until Monday when I took my car in for several things. One of them being that the 2nd row seat wouldn't go back up. I later find that there was some toy coin stuck in between the gears or something. Anyway, I had mentioned to my guy about the problem and said I had taken it in before and nobody could find a problem. I thought the motor was too slow. Low and behold they did a software update, said there stumbled upon something they weren't supposed to (don't know what that means) and were able to fix it. So not only does it work better then ever, when I put the 2nd row seat back down the front seat moves back to it's original spot! That never happened before!
Try speaking with a different service guy and tell him that you know for a fact the motor is slow and shouldn't be catching and that others have had this too.

2nd Row easy option and head rest problems
I have had MANY problems with 2014 GL350 2nd row bench easy option, where the top portion folds but the actual bench will not fold, though front row will move forward to make room for the 2nd row bench. I took it to MB dealer twice and was told to have problems taken care of. But it didn’t so this time I took it back to dealer and complained hard. Dealer replaced the motor and problem still exists. Dealer called MB engineers and they decided to install a new frame while keeping the covers same. Will let you know how it works when I receive my GL350 back after using it for few days.
My BIGGEST problem with 2nd row easy option is the Headrest. They are SUPER TERRIBLY designed headrests, where it only goes up and down, no other setting or adjustments. This creates a BIG problem for my average height adult daughter, where her head is not resting on the headrest instead elongated in mid-air. It is not a rocket science, but now I have to deal with this poorly designed headrest. Does anyone with GL 2nd row easy option has this problem with headrest? I would appreciate your experience and please share if there is any remedy to fix this issue, as dealer has not offered any help on it. I called MB and they referred back to Dealer.

FYI, there's a huge thread with numerous complaints and various solutions: https://mbworld.org/forums/gl-class-...-headrest.html

my easy entry would not always fold forward.. the dealer realigned the seats apart as the friction was causing the seat to not flip forward.

cyclrder: as i posted in another thread, MB mfr. and dealer are REPACING the 2nd row bench frame after replacing the motor. Your fix is only going to be temporary as i had taken GL many times to get done what your dealer is doing now. In short, your problem will not go away that easily. I will keep you posted once the frame is replaced.

Here is an update to my GL350’s 2nd row easy entry option (bench folding) - After six weeks at the dealer’s shop and three consecutive tries to fix what is supposed to be an “Easy Fix” for making second row bench to fold as part of an easy entry option per Dallas MB dealer, the vehicle is ready to be picked up. Will update the forum.
