2013 GL450 doors opens by itself while driving
Hello. I have experienced several occasions on this issue. While driving the front passenger will opens by itself and there's no warning on the dash telling you that the door is open. Recently, the rear passenger door completely opened while having a 3 year old toddler sitting in her car seat luckily she was secured. Have any one have experienced the same issues like us?? Please help! Love the car not the safety feature so far!

Thanks guys
Yes the GL has been in and out of the service center many times this year alone. From the coolant issue to the door opening issue. Thanks for all the supports

I've never heard of this either. One door might suggest a defect in the locking mechanism, but having more than one (same side?) do the same is not good. Is it possible that the truck was involved in an accident, perhaps before you bought it, so that there is some frame damage and the doors are not properly aligned? Have you tried pulling from the outside or pushing from the inside to see if you can force the door open when it is closed?

I had the same thing. Drivers door would unlock while driving. Not wide open - just one click. Happened few times. When I was driving my left foot was relaxed and kinda pushing on the door. Two times happened when I was driving slowly - car would change its gear to parking. Tried to reproduce it by pushing hard onto locked door - would not unlock.
So far - 3 out of 4 soft lock failed, 3 out of 4 doors can be opened while the car is locked. The alarm goes off - but still can open the door.

Hey guys,
I have the same problem. The outside door unlocks one click when cornering and the warning chime comes on. When I close the door with some force it never happens, only when letting the car pull it close using the soft close.
When I pull the door closed with one hand while driving the soft close re-locks it and doesn't open again.

Happen to us
Hello, my wife and I had been driving the car for about a half an hour when we arrived at our destination. We were in the parking lot driving about 8 mph when we heard a load pop and the car slam to a halt. The car info center read, the car can't move when it is in park--if the car is moving and the door come open, the car goes in park as a safety precaution (this is not supposed to happen on its own while the car is moving). We called the dealership and had the car towed there. They found out that this has been happen in the GL line and they replaced the key fob ignition. We have a 2013 GL450. Hope this help some.

I have having dinner and I hear an alarm go off. It was my car with one of the rear door slightly opened. Now I don't know if someone walked by and pulled on the door or the door popped open by itself. I later did some testing and realized that even though the doors are locked, with leaving the car keys far away from the car(keyless go), I can pull that door open and the alarm will go off.
Is this something we can address in our own?

I'm having this issue now where one of the rear door is locked but anyone can walk by an open it without my key being near.

Do you have a copy of the TSB or any information about the service campaign for this? I would like to have the info when I talk to my service advisor as I have a similar problem of being able to unlock/open the door without the key.

Mercedes cls 400 2015 door latch issue
I was driving my car last week and all of a sudden I hear a sound from the back of the car. Then my car lights came on and my dashboard showing that my back door is open. My friend said your back door has just opened, luckily it didn't open fully and there was no one sitting at the back. I was so shocked. I spoke to Mercedes and he did not believe such thing can happen. And said I must have not closed it properly. Which is so erroneous. There is a mechanical fault with the door latch and I hope it gets resolved

Hi,
I have the same issue but little different that when I stop my car say at parking lot, someone can open my rear right side passenger door without me unlocking from inside and that unlocks all the doors. I gave me car to the dealership to fix it..I will update everyone about their findings and fix.

Has anyone had this happen with the soft close doors? I can actually understand how it happens without them... I HATE slamming doors and these are pretty tight fit doors which means that if you don't close them hard enough it's possible they don't latch completely. That's why it's mandated that there are two latch positions.
This kind of behavior is what soft close doors are designed to prevent.

Well that sucks. I guess maybe the soft close mechanism is failing and not pulling the door closed any better than a human with a light touch?
