12V Outlet Cap Inquiry
To fill you guys in, I was looking at this car about a month ago, from an out of state MB dealer (CA), and while going over the pictures of the car that was emailed to me, I'd noticed one of the 12V cover (rear of center console below A/C controls, driver's side outlet) missing on one of the outlets and asked her if she can get that part replaced.
Fast forward to yesterday, a month later now that it's getting ready to be picked up by transport carrier to be shipped to me...she tells me it's more than just a cap, that it's an entire unit that requires install. Between parts and labor, a $170 job. Since there's no time to order the part and have it installed before the carrier gets there, she said when I take delivery of car and get that fixed, she will reimburse me, or just send me a check for $170 and I can get it replace or left alone. She was told it was just a cap.
So, I don't have a GL to see, but can anyone confirm it's just a cap and is it attached to the console that would require disassembling the center console to replace the cap, or is it a loose cap? Wow, $170 just to replace an outlet cap?!
