NY Buyers
I will be looking at a GL purchase soon. I'm curious how many NY buyers exist here on the forum and what dealerships you've had a good experience with. I'm in central Suffolk and would like to know which dealership you were able to get a good deal at.
Also, are there advantages to buying out of state? Are there any rules or things to watch out for?

I bought my '14 GL550 used from MB of Smithtown, first MB for me. Nice people, good experience. Bought from them as they had the vehicle I wanted, so I can't offer any comparison to other dealers on LI. Potential advantages of buying out of state are probably limited to price and desired vehicle (color/options/availability). Regardless, you'll have to pay NY taxes/registration fees, assuming you will register it in NY.

I bought my car from Silver Star in Queens.... Both my sales person and the service team were fantastic including taking a car back from me after some issues could not be resolved in a timely manner from MBUSA.

I bought 4 cars from MB of Brooklyn and 1 from MB of Manhattan. Both were good, except one time when the new sales manager in Brooklyn screwed up my deal, but that guy is out of work already. For service I prefer MB of Rockville Center.

I will only work with Estate in a Westchester (I live in Huntington). Not only are the prices amazing but all service and warranty work is done in my driveway. They come with a loaner S class or GL and take my car in. They even deliver the cars to me when I buy them. If you want an intro let me know....

It's a figure of speech - they bring you the loaner on your driveway and pick up your car. When it's done, they drop off your car and they pick up the loaner. They don't actually do any work on your driveway.

It's like the import beehive down there.
Was on Long Island today.
That Island has some major wealth.
Up in Boston most of the Mercedes Dealers are owned by just two companies.
Tough to get them to compete up here.

Got my best price from New Rochelle (Larchmont) Mercedes. Salesman was Don Lee.
I walked out of White Plains (Pepe Owned) because of the attitude of several salesman. I knew exactly what I wanted, had a 50% deposit and I couldn't get anyone to speak with me on two visits. Had I know that New Rochelle was also owned by Pepe I would not have bought from them.
I've heard great things about Silver Star, Greenwich and Estate too.
