Guys.....I drove GL 450"s for 8 years ( always paid cash)...loved each of the three that i owned ( and my dealer was the absolute best ever )....but it is sort of like this....i could have bought an MB two seater ( actually toyed with the idea ) the quality and engineering far beyond the Corvette that I DID buy...but the feeling, the culture, and the response from others when I throttle up that Vette is more of what I want than what the MB two seater would have given me! I took a 120 mile roundtrip in the Escalade today....did it feel like i was driving in the S class....hardly....but did it feel like I was driving in probably the best equipped, most utility capable, most luxurious American vehicle i have ever owned.....yes! 21mpg! I have never owned a GL for more than 3yrs, and no serious issues...if the Caddy holds up to that standard I will be more than happy......so far, it is flawless! Will i get the trade value....probably not....at this age, not worried!!

Not to mention, you are giving up one of the safest vehicles on the road. The GL has never had a traffic fatility. It's listed as one of the few vehicles that can say the same while the Escalade is not in the group. If you wanted an extra measure of safety, I don't believe you achieved it with the Caddi.

From the article. "The numbers mostly reflect vehicles from the 2011 model year but some vehicles that were’t substantially redesigned before 2011 date back to 2008." No, the stats were not just based on 2011 models. The GL x164 ran from 2007 to 2012.
