Possible to replace normal GL pedals w/ GL63 Aluminum pedals?
So, after a year or so of owning my GL450 I've decided I want to get the sportier aluminum pedals found in the GL63. The question is how do I take the pedals off? I've replaced them in my Audi just by using a flat head screwdriver and prying them off. So to all 2013 to present GL owners, is it possible, if so who has done this conversion? Do you just pry off he pedals or is there a certain way? Also what is the best place for OEM parts like for the pedals, taillights, headlights, etc?

Also look for aluminum colored seat adjuster caps... A very subtle but nice touch. (They will come from China

I just did this on my GL 550. Bought OEM parts from the dealer. Original gas pedal pad stays on. Brake pedal pad comes off. Slightly tricky to stretch the rubber around the pedal but only took 5 minutes and they sre very stable.

Original gas pedal stays on. New gas pedal slips over original. Brake pad pulls off.
Back of new brake pedal
Job complete! Took 5 minutes. Cost $89 from dealer

The OEM brake pedal cover comes off by lifting the rubber part which covers a metal pedal. The AMG cover goes back on the same way it came off and does take some effort to get it started and strong fingers to continue the process until fully seated. The accelerator AMG cover goes on over the existing pedal as there is no OEM cover to remove. I found it goes on more easily than the brake cover. Both covers take some time and dexterity to do as I found you need to move the seat all the way back and get yourself into the foot-well in order to get the leverage to install them. Not very hard to do and the results are well worth the effort. BTW, I bought these covers for my '09 ML. I took them off the ML when we traded it in on the '14 GL and installed them on our '14 GL as the OEM pedals are the same. Also, our '14 GL does not have an emergency pedal so I believe your '13 does not have one either. So don't buy a cover for that pedal assuming you do not have it. I bought mine from MB but I see them on Ebay also. Price and shipping determines a lot for me when purchasing. Go for it! They look great and people who look in to our GL remark about them even though they don't know anything about MB GL's.

Very minimal difference. Slightly wider but not much. The OEM pedal is very thin. The new pedal covers the original but it is not noticeable. Still very trim looking but much cooler.

I put those on 2013 GL350. They look and feel nice.
Installation:
1. Gas Pedal - put the new part over the gas pedal.
2. Brake Pedal - Remove the old rubber cover then put the new part.
