just drove my GL for first time in snow and ice and wasnt impressed............maybe its the wide tires but it almost put me in the ditch and i'm used to driving in snow
The only way to drive this vehicle in any serious snow is with SNOW/ICE tires. I use Nokian tires and it makes a huge difference. The tires that come with the GL are just fine for warm weather driving, but I would never use them for the winter. I run mine with 19" wheels and Nokians with plenty of tread. The cost is well worth the stability and reduced chance of a mishap! With no snow to speak of at this point in Eastern MA, I don't have a picture. :-(
Yes, only way to drive in snow with the GL is with snow tires or chains. The wide all season tires, especially the continentals are sub par for the course. JMHO.
Here's mine in Colorado in January. I agree that the tires leave a lot to be desired in the snow. Mine are the Pirellis. Last time I was in a lot of snow I was in a 4x4 Suburban with Bridgestone Duelers and they stuck like glue.
