x166: 20 x 9.5 rims with 32" offset mounted

This morning, I had the above mentioned rims with 275/50/20 tires installed on my GL350. I really like the improved stance of the wider rims and the lower offset. The handing is improved as well. FYI: Turn-to-turn, there is ZERO rubbing. Custom MBZ center caps on order. Wish the weather allowed me to have her cleaned up for the pictures.

Looks good. I just installed my 20" x 9 AMG rims couple weeks ago. Offset is 41", but I put 285/50/20 tires, so the look is similar. I will post my pictures later on this week.

P.S. I see you have mud flaps. Where did you get them ? Can you post a link ? Thanks.

I found one picture - not the best shot, but I'll put more later. This is GL550 AMG winter 20 x 9 rims et41. Tires 285/50/20.

No Any issues when it was on my truck. Since that time I sold my truck and sold those wheels to another guy and he has not reported any issues as well.

Thanks ,, Very good news ,, I want to mount S class 20" rims with 285/50/20 tires

reason is that I like the S class rim and the 20" tires are much cheaper and widely available

Anyone have ever done this?

2015 GL450
Those look fantastic on your GL450 I have a 2015 GL450 and purchased set of Vossen VVS-78 in 20x10.5 with 36 offset and they don't clear the brake calipers. Had to install 6mm spacers on the front to clear the brakes. IMO the wheel is out too far past the narrow fender on the GL450. It would fit the GL550 without issue due to the wider fender flares.

I'm unclear if the issue is just the offset or both the offset and width of wheel at 10.5" Pretty bummed out as I desparately wanted these to fit.

This is interesting. I had called Vossen a month ago and they told me to run a 20x10.5 with the 36 offset on my GL550. They told me the 42 or 50 offsets I wanted weren't right. After reading your information, I'm thinking at least the 42 is a better call in terms of appearance, but it would make clearance to calipers worse.

I spoke to Vossen and they told me these would fit my 450 as one of their team members installed these exact wheels on his personal 550. With the wider fender flares & front/rear bumpers on the 550, I can see where their recommendation to you makes sense. Just disappointing they didn't realize the difference in the fenders/bumpers and brakes between the 450 & 550. Being I will have to move these, I was looking into some other Vossen wheels such as the VFS-2 or the CV7 just not sure what would be the best look / fit. With those styles, I prefer a slight concave profile instead of a flat profile similar to the OEM 20" wheel.

Curious if you ever installed the 285/50R-20 tires and do they fit okay?
