Has anyone seen this pop up yet?
I pulled it using a bluetooth OBD II tool and it shows U0402 which is some transmission control Module data error.
Anyone dealt with the dealership on this? I'm out of warranty and last time I went in there I was nickel and dimed pretty good.

What year GL450 - this X166 forum is 2013 forward - X164 earlier is different forum.

What symptoms are you actually experiencing ?

The reason I ask is that particular code could have been "stored" from a prior nonsensical incident - or does it represent a particular genuine "issue" you are having now ?

No symptoms other than the light. I reset the light and within seconds of starting the vehicle it pops back up. I'd like to know what the potential range of issues people have encountered or root causes so I know what I'm up against. I'd like to tell the service advisor what it is most likely so he doesn't make something up.

Oh and my inspection is due at the end of the month.

I'm pretty sure that was the number code that I had pop up - I read with my reader as well - when I took it to the dealer it was something like "Implausible data from the transmission"

Fix was they refreshed/upgraded the ECU and it went away - there was no physical repair that I know of.

I was under warranty 2013 at about 36k.

I recall that I googled up a service bulletin about it - maybe on the forum here or out in the wild of the internet

Lol!
Did it again this year, just before inspection. I was able to clear it last year and pass inspection. Indy caught a TSB and we are working through that update.
