2013 Audi A8L 4.0t, 2012 GL450
Discount on a 2016 GL550 demo?

I'm looking at a 2016 GL550 demo with 3K miles. MSRP is $93,550 and dealer has offered $81,977 including a $2K USAA incentive. Is $11.6K off a 2016 DEMO a good deal, or should I be able to do better? I'm getting a one model year old vehicle (on a model that was just refreshed/rebranded) and it has been "used" even though I get the warranty benefit from the time of my purchase.

Thoughts?

KBB range for 2016 CPO @ 4k miles is $82 to $88k so at first glance it seems like a good deal. I'd offer $80 just because I think everything is negotiable.

I would also get them to CPO the car so you can have unlimited mile warranty and availability to buy any time before new warranty expires an extra two years for seven years total

Thanks for the input. Yeah. They came back with $84K without me doing anything other than asking for a price. There's no way they came in with their bottom line price. I then asked for the $2K USAA discount on top which they agreed to (I probably should have held that info back until the very end, but oh well). I'd imagine there's some more room if I'm willing to sign today at $80K or walk given it's the last day of the quarter.

Interesting thought. I didn't realize they could CPO a "new" vehicle. Perhaps they can since it's a demo?

I would need the last 7 of the VIN to check what "demo" really/really means..

I just had another forum member PM regarding a GL550 that had been sold by a NJ dealer with 6K miles on it - and that GL550 was what is termed a "PT3" vehicle - meaning a test vehicle which cannot have ELW later, and cannot be CPO later...

You never know the "real" story unless you have the Mercedes internal VMI..

Ask for a warranty extension instead of a CPO if you have to. But price quoted doesn't seem outlandish.

As a dealer demo, its never been registered so you should have the benefit of a new car warranty with the in-service mileage and date being the date you buy it. I'd hit that bid if you like the car.
